One thing this can't doSerie A settles a tie on the head-to-head record between the level clubs first, and on a three-way tie it builds a classifica avulsa - a mini-table of just the matches between those clubs. This predictor works from each club's total wins, draws and goals, which can't tell it who beat whom, so it separates level clubs on goal difference instead. Points are still right; the order of clubs on identical points may not be.

Sorted on points, then goal difference, then goals scored. Capped at 38 games per club.

How the predictor works

A Serie A table predictor is just arithmetic you'd rather not do by hand: three points a win, one a draw, then sort. The work is keeping goal difference and every club's remaining fixtures straight while you argue about it. That's what this does - and it starts from the actual standings, not a blank sheet.

  1. Start from the real table. The predictor loads this season's 20 Serie A clubs with their current record already filled in, so you're editing real results rather than a blank sheet.
  2. Play out the remaining fixtures. Use +W, +D and +L to add results one game at a time, or type straight into a club's wins, draws, losses and goals. Each club is capped at 38 games and shows how many it has left.
  3. Watch the table re-sort. Points and goal difference recalculate on every edit and the table re-orders instantly - points first, then goal difference, then goals scored.
  4. Check who lands where. The Scudetto, UCL, UEL and relegation places are marked as you go, so you can see exactly what your club needs. Reset to live results whenever you want to start again.

No sign-up, nothing saved, nothing to install. Refresh and you're back to the real table.

How the Serie A table is decided

Points first, then head-to-head points between the tied clubs, then head-to-head goal difference, then overall goal difference, then goals scored.

Every club plays 38 games - all 19 rivals home and away. A win is three points, a draw is one, a defeat is nothing. Level on points and the Serie A separates clubs on head-to-head points between the tied clubs, then head-to-head goal difference, then overall goal difference, then goals scored.

Where this predictor stops short

Serie A settles a tie on the head-to-head record between the level clubs first, and on a three-way tie it builds a classifica avulsa - a mini-table of just the matches between those clubs. This predictor works from each club's total wins, draws and goals, which can't tell it who beat whom, so it separates level clubs on goal difference instead. Points are still right; the order of clubs on identical points may not be.

Why each of the big five breaks a tie differently

What each position is worth

  • 1st - the Scudetto - and if two clubs finish level on points at the top, Serie A settles the title with a one-off play-off.
  • Top 4 - Champions League league phase.
  • 5th - has recently carried a Europa League place, though European allocation moves with Coppa Italia winners and UEFA coefficients.
  • 18th to 20th - relegated to Serie B.

The predictor marks those zones as the table re-sorts, so you can see the moment your club crosses one.

FAQ

How does the Serie A table predictor work?+

It loads this season's twenty clubs with their current record, then lets you edit any club's wins, draws, losses and goals. Points are recalculated as three for a win and one for a draw, and the table re-sorts instantly on points, goal difference and goals scored.

How is the Serie A table decided?+

Points first. If clubs are level, Serie A goes to the head-to-head record between them before overall goal difference - head-to-head points, then head-to-head goal difference. With three or more clubs level it builds a classifica avulsa: a mini-table counting only the matches those clubs played against each other. And since 2022-23, if two clubs finish level on points at the very top, the Scudetto is settled by a one-off play-off rather than on goal difference.

What is the classifica avulsa?+

It is the mini-table Serie A uses when three or more clubs finish level on points. Only the results between those tied clubs count, and they are ranked on the points they took off each other, then goal difference within that mini-table. It is why a Serie A tie can resolve in an order that looks surprising if you are only watching overall goal difference.

Does this predictor use head-to-head?+

No, and it is worth knowing why. The tool works from each club's total wins, draws and goals, which cannot tell it who beat whom, so it separates level clubs on goal difference instead. Points, and therefore who lands in the title and European places, are still correct - but the order of clubs sitting on exactly the same points may differ from the official table.

How many games does each club play?+

Thirty-eight - each of the twenty clubs plays every other club home and away. The predictor caps every club at 38 and shows a games-remaining count, so a table cannot drift into an impossible season.

Which places qualify for Europe, and which are relegated?+

The top four go into the Champions League league phase and fifth has recently carried a Europa League spot, though European allocation shifts with Coppa Italia winners and UEFA coefficients. The bottom three - 18th, 19th and 20th - are relegated to Serie B.
