Printable NFL playoff bracket
The real bracket, re-seeding and all. Pick every game, watch it re-seed itself, then print it or send it to the group chat.
If the playoffs started today
Seeded from this week's standings. Pick every game - the bracket re-seeds itself - 0 of 13 called.
Every round is a single game. After the Wild Card round the bracket re-seeds: the 1 seed hosts the lowest seed left, and the other two survivors play each other.

How the bracket works
An NFL playoff bracket is fourteen teams and thirteen games: seven from each conference, a bye for the top seed, and a re-seed after the Wild Card round. Most printable brackets draw fixed lines from one game to the next, which is exactly what the NFL does not do. This one follows the real rules, so the Divisional round you print is the one the league would actually play.
- Start from the real bracket. The 14-team NFL playoffs bracket loads with this season's seeding already in place - 7 teams from each conference, AFC on one side and NFC on the other.
- Pick a winner in every game. Click the team you think wins and they move on. Once every first-round game is picked the bracket re-seeds itself, exactly as the league does, and later rounds clear if an earlier pick changes who plays whom.
- Follow it to the final. Work through Wild Card, Divisional Round, Conference Championships and Super Bowl until one team is left holding the trophy.
- Copy it or make it count. Print it, copy your picks into the group chat, or run the same bracket as a free pool so it scores itself against the real results.

How the NFL playoffs bracket is decided
14 teams, 4 rounds, one trophy.
Fourteen teams, seven a side
Each conference sends its four division winners, seeded 1 to 4 on record, and three wild cards, seeded 5 to 7. The division title outranks the record: a division winner always hosts a wild card in the first round, even one with more wins.
Only the 1 seed gets a bye
The top seed in each conference skips the Wild Card round. The other six play 2 v 7, 3 v 6 and 4 v 5, so Wild Card weekend is six games, three a side, and the 1 seeds wait to see who they get.
The bracket re-seeds after every round
Nothing is fixed in advance. After the Wild Card round the 1 seed hosts the lowest seed still alive, and the other two survivors play each other. That is why an upset changes who the favourites meet, and why a paper bracket that draws fixed lines between games gets the Divisional round wrong.
One game a round, and the higher seed hosts
Every round is a single game, with the higher seed at home through the Conference Championships. The Super Bowl is played at a neutral site chosen years in advance.
The bracket above follows those rules exactly - it is the same structure the NFL playoffs is actually played on, not a generic knockout ladder.
FAQ
How does the NFL playoff bracket work?+
Seven teams make it from each conference: the four division winners, seeded 1 to 4, and three wild cards, seeded 5 to 7. The 1 seed gets a bye. The Wild Card round is 2 v 7, 3 v 6 and 4 v 5. Then the bracket re-seeds for the Divisional round, the winners meet in the Conference Championships, and the AFC and NFC champions play the Super Bowl.
Does the NFL re-seed the bracket?+
Yes, after every round. Once the Wild Card games are done, the 1 seed hosts the lowest seed still alive and the other two survivors play each other. So if the 7 seed pulls off an upset, the 7 goes to the 1 seed, not the slot a fixed bracket would have drawn. This bracket re-seeds itself as you pick.
Who gets a bye in the NFL playoffs?+
Only the 1 seed in each conference - two teams in all. Everyone else plays on Wild Card weekend, six games in total.
When do the NFL playoffs start?+
The weekend after the regular season ends, in mid-January, with the Divisional round and the Conference Championships on the next two weekends and the Super Bowl in February. The bracket above is seeded from this week's standings, so it shows who would be in if the season ended today.
Can I print the bracket?+
Yes. Fill in as much or as little as you want and hit Print - you get the bracket alone on a landscape page, dark on white, with your picks in it. Print it blank and it keeps the seed labels for filling in by hand.
Can I run this as a bracket pool with my friends?+
That's the version that scores itself. Run a free NFL playoff bracket pool on Trofeo.live, everyone fills in their own bracket, results grade automatically against the real games, and a live leaderboard settles who actually called it. Free for groups up to 10.
Is it free?+
Completely free, no login, no spreadsheet. Fill in and print as many brackets as you like. The only optional paid step is running a pool bigger than 10 players.
