March Madness bracket
Sixty-three games, one champion, zero chance you get them all. Fill it in, print it, and find out how fast your bracket busts.
The bracket
The teams land on Selection Sunday, March 14, 2027. Until then it's the real structure with seed lines - pick by seed, or print it blank. Final Four pairings are set on Selection Sunday too.

How the bracket works
A March Madness bracket is 64 teams and 63 games: four regions of sixteen, six rounds, one title. Fill in who wins each game and they move on - pick a 12 seed to beat a 5 and everything downstream updates, so the bracket never shows a team that has already gone home.
- Start from the real bracket. Four regions of sixteen, paired the way the tournament pairs them: 1 v 16, 8 v 9, 5 v 12 and down the line. The teams land on Selection Sunday, March 14, 2027.
- Pick a winner in every game. Click the team you think wins and they move on. Change your mind and every later round clears itself, so your bracket never has a team in the Sweet 16 that lost on Thursday.
- Follow it to Detroit. Work through Round of 64, Round of 32, Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final Four and the National Championship until one team is left.
- Print it or make it count. Print it for the office wall, copy your picks into the group chat, or run it as a free bracket pool that scores itself against the real results.

How the 2027 bracket is decided
76 teams in, 64 in the bracket, 6 rounds, one trophy.
76 teams, 64 in the bracket
2027 is the first 76-team tournament: 32 conference champions plus 44 at-large picks. The 24 lowest-ranked teams - the 12 lowest-seeded automatic qualifiers and the 12 lowest-seeded at-large teams - play 12 Opening Round games on March 16-17 in Dayton and Wichita. The winners join the bracket everyone fills out: 64 teams, four regions of sixteen.
Four regions, seeded 1 to 16
Each region pairs its seeds the same way: 1 v 16, 8 v 9, 5 v 12, 4 v 13, 6 v 11, 3 v 14, 7 v 10, 2 v 15. The path is fixed from there - no re-seeding - so the 1 seed meets the 8 v 9 winner, and an upset opens up a whole corner of the region.
Six rounds, one game each
Round of 64 and Round of 32 on March 18-21, the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 at the regional sites on March 25-28, then the four region winners meet in the Final Four at Ford Field in Detroit on April 3, with the National Championship on April 5. Every round is a single game - lose once and you're out.
The field lands on Selection Sunday
The committee announces all 76 teams, the seeds and which regions meet in the Final Four on Selection Sunday, March 14, 2027. Until then nobody's bracket has real teams in it - including this one, which shows the seed lines and fills in when the field is set.

How many teams are in the 2027 tournament?+

Do I have to pick the Opening Round games?+
No. Like almost every bracket pool, this bracket starts at the Round of 64 - the Opening Round is settled before anyone's picks lock, so its winners simply take their seed lines.

Can I run this as a bracket pool with my friends?+
That's the version that scores itself. Run a free March Madness bracket pool on Trofeo.live: everyone fills in their own bracket, results grade automatically, and a live leaderboard settles who actually called it. Free for groups up to 10.
